Greenwich and a musical

After yesterday, everyone get a little bit scared and tried to be more careful and thoughtful. Yoram is such a democrat so he sat for a while with the children and tried to get their consent on today whereabouts. They dismiss London bridge which was in our original plan and we settled for Greenwich and this also because we raise the idea to go by boat. So we can combine something they want and something which is not a museum. 

It was already almost 11:00 when we left. In the evening we had tickets to a show at 19:30 so we took the tickets with us. 

There is Thames bus that gave us some kind of discount with the travel card. There are a lot of companies running boats and seems the bus is the fastest. We almost didn't wait and myself, Tamar and Yoni sat outside to watch the view.

Yoram's back is good enough to allow him to move but not too fast. The weather was fine, not to hot and not to cold. When we disembarked, in front of us was the old naval college which is a unesco site. There was a hospital here and a palace and there are beautiful gardens and the Greenwich meridian.

Some small surprises were the picture hall, a room with beautiful murals and a chapel we didn't see since there was a wedding taking place. We read the brochure and saw that the site was used in lots of movies like 4 weddings and a funeral, Lara Croft and others. The truth is it is very beautiful. Near to this is a small city with the city market. Since it was weekend, the market was open and offered a big variety of street food and part of them gluten free. So before getting to climb the hill, we went to the market and tried almost everything it had to offer. Tamar got a donut with chocolate, Amir tired a burrito, then we had some dim sum, pasta, pie, frozen yogurt, churros, milkshake and a gin lemonade for the mother to calm down.

          













Yoram was a real hero and climbed all the way up. We didn't get into the observatory since nobody was interested in the stars except the adults. The line is inside so we photographed it from outside the fence. On the way down we rested on the grass and the children were busy rolling over the hill happy than ever. Then they spotted a volleyball net where a big group of young people gathered. They were very well equipped with tons of sports games like baseball, football , volleyball. So they just offered the boys a ball and they played around. We understood that there is no chance we go home before the show. But we also didn't know that there is a one hour line to get back by the water bus, so we took a train back.

We arrived to the center and understood we need to have dinner before the show. There is a big chain called Leon that serves organic and health food and it also has a variety of gluten free. But I was the only one eating there. A nice salad, with green leaves and broccoli and kinoa and fried chicken breast. Yoni had a subway sandwich and we rushed to the theatre. Charlie and the chocolate factory plays on drury lane street, near the royal opera and covent garden. So many people. Our tickets were on the first balcony and still it was pretty high. The children were a little disappointed before the show that they will not see and that we are not sitting downstairs in the stalls (where a ticket costs 125£). But near each seat there are binoculars for 1 pound. Tamar alternate between sitting on Yoram's lap and the stairs, but she was very interested on the plot even though she didn't understand a lot except what Yoram translated. 

Amir and yoni enjoyed also. Hope they will appreciate it one day. I liked the show a lot although there is no big hit. The show ended around 22:00 and although I wanted to stroll around for a while we took the bus home, stopped at the supermarket nearby and bought food for tomorrow trip to bath and Stonehenge.
