Our flight left TLV at 00:10 and arrived at JFK on half hour earlier than planned. It was long as always, no interesting staff to mention. The kids were great, really easy to travel with them.
We took a yellow cab from the airport and several minutes before 7:00 we arrived to Wallace apartment, on 122 Nassau st., which is in far south of Manhattan. A very spacious place, equipped and warm. We were very happy. The only downside is the steep stairways that makes every exit a kind of adventure.

After settling down, Ioana went to buy food in a close by store. The kids were tired and a little jumpy, so by the time Ioana returned Amir was already asleep. The rest ate breakfast and drank coffee and hot chocolate Yoram brought from the nearest Starbucks shop.
There is a construction site right across the street, so the street is blocked and every couple of minutes they block the sidewalk and when they open it they play a very loud horn. We're not used to live in a city :)
Since the sightseeing must start, Ioana took Yoni and Tamar to see the 9/11 memorial which is just around the corner. The memorial is impressive. The two black holes which used to be the twins with the falling water and the new buildings (2 out of 4) raising near touched even the children. They were really trying to comprehend what happened.

In our way home we saw raspberries, so we had to took them home.
Finally, around 10:30 we succeeded to leave the apartment heading to Times Square. The first objective is make the kids happy (when the kids are happy, we are happy), so we headed Toys R Us. But just before that we had a picture with kitty and someone red. And an Instagram on the screens in times square.
The huge four floors shop was very inviting. Each of the kids bought something except Tamar who bought several somethings (playmobil and another playmobil - but they were on sale so it was ok).
After the shop, we felt hungry so we decided to stop and eat. Since we are so well organized all the
Gluten free restaurants are mapped on our google maps so we headed to the closest one. Walking down 42 street and seeing all the theaters and people waiting on lines in the rain (yes, it was raining from time to time) really made us fell the city. John's pizza was the closest and we enter a huge room, with a huge painting wall and wonderful ceiling. They had gluten free pasta and for us pizza and the kids took ravioli. It was a good lunch.

When we went out, the rain was so intense that we received an alarm notification on our phones for a flood. Interesting that in NY they succeed to send alarms also to tourists while in Israel I couldn't yet get on the alarm notifications list despite the national trial they are doing.
From now on, Yoram got really depressed and tired because of the rain and the only solution was to go home. All fell asleep somwhere between 16:00 and 17:00. Yoni stayed awake so Ioana took him to a stroll in the neighborhood. This time they went to seaport south. A nice place with shops and restaurants and a lot of people. The trip was pretty short and around 20:00 all family was asleep. Interesting to know what will happen during the night.
