Heading to the Finger Lakes - 7/8

A long drive is ahead, so we wake up early, grab something to eat, put our belongings inside the many suitcases we have and start our way towards the Finger Lakes (5 lakes shaped as fingers) at 10:30. The hotel we stayed at is an old one but was very fancy and big when it was build. the first to have water in all rooms and also phones.

On the way we stopped at a lovely place by the woods - Taughannock Falls State Park. There are many state parks in the Finger Lakes area, and they are very pretty. Very green, lots of water, excellent weather (highest temp is 25 degrees), low traffic, big houses and wide landscapes. Very peaceful. Until we reached the picnic area...

It turned out that our plans for having a quiet picnic by the trees didn't align with the kids' desires. There was not enough food, no proper dinnerware, and in general - a real disappointment. Or, as Amir said it: is this what we have to eat for lunch? you want us to starve?

Well, the parents had a nice lunch and the kids were very angry.

We abandoned our plans for traveling in the area (except visiting the waterfall nearby) and swimming in the lake and continued straight to Dryden, our next home.

Dryden is an isolated village, 20 km from Ithaca (which is not that big of a city), but the house is very nice, with a large yard and well equipped. 

There are 3 bed rooms, 2 with double bed and one with a single bed. Yoni took the single bed room and Amir and Tamar took the other. The parents' bed is very high, Ioana had difficulties climbing on it...

There is a large basement, which Tamar was very excited about. She said that it's a perfect place for hide and seek.

While Yoram and Tamar were exploring the house, Ioana went to buy food and we had a pleasant dinner made of streaks and mashed potatoes.

After dinner Yoram gave the kids a motivation speech. Hopefully, this time it will do the job and the cheeky behavior will stop.

Yoni had a bath and most kids brushed their teeth. Tired and happy, all went to sleep.
